Bode is Hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator (FT) Near Edmonds, WA

Who We Are:
We are a construction company that has been based in the Seattle area since 1990. We focus on multi-family housing for emerging middle-class tenants; look at another way, our offering enables blue-collar and similarly-employed people to live in attractive, urban environments with proximity to transportation and amenities. We are rapidly growing, changing, and improving every aspect of our business.
We have an immediate need for a Heavy equipment operator experienced in road construction, building infrastructure, excavation, land development, and utility installation.
We manage about 1,000 units across multiple properties, have five properties under construction (about 80 to 165 units each), and seven in the permitting process (150-300 units each). We have an aggressive but achievable goal of 25,000 units by 2030 as the first installment in the larger vision. We want to make the model scalable to hundreds of thousands and then millions of units over time.
Heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery specifically used in civil construction projects.
  • 5 years experience with operating heavy equipment: Safely and efficiently operating machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and compactors to perform tasks like digging, grading, leveling, and compacting surfaces.
  • Safety protocols: Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment for oneself and others on the construction site.
  • Material handling: Loading, unloading, and transporting materials using appropriate equipment, such as moving soil, rocks, and construction materials.
  • Site preparation: Assisting in site preparation activities, including clearing land, excavating trenches, and preparing the ground for construction and utility installation.
  • Collaboration and communication: Working closely with other team members, supervisors, and contractors to ensure efficient workflow, coordination, and completion of the project.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents or accidents that occur on the job site.
A civil heavy equipment operator should have a good understanding of equipment operation and maintenance, and be able to follow instructions and work well in a team. Physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail are also crucial for this role.
It's important to note that the specific job requirements and responsibilities may vary depending on the construction project, company, and industry regulations.
