- Solution Design: You're responsible for designing the architecture of Azure solutions, considering factors like scalability, availability, performance, security, and cost. This involves selecting appropriate Azure services, defining networking and storage architectures, and ensuring compliance with best practices and architectural principles.
- Cloud Migration: You develop strategies and plans for migrating existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to Azure. This includes assessing current environments, identifying migration candidates, and planning migration approaches to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition.
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): You design IAM solutions using Azure Active Directory (AAD) to manage user identities, access controls, and authentication mechanisms. This involves defining identity federation, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and role-based access control (RBAC) policies.
- Networking: You design Azure networking architectures to establish connectivity between on-premises environments, Azure resources, and external networks. This includes configuring virtual networks (VNets), subnets, network security groups (NSGs), VPN gateways, ExpressRoute circuits, and Azure Firewall.
- Compute: You design compute solutions on Azure, selecting appropriate virtual machine (VM) sizes, types, and configurations to meet workload requirements. This may involve implementing auto-scaling, high availability, and fault tolerance mechanisms using features like Azure Availability Zones and Azure VM Scale Sets.
- Storage: You design storage solutions on Azure, selecting appropriate storage types (e.g., Blob storage, File storage, Disk storage) and configurations based on performance, scalability, and durability requirements. This includes designing storage architectures for data persistence, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Security and Compliance: You implement security controls and compliance measures to protect Azure resources and data. This involves configuring security policies, encryption, threat detection, and security monitoring using Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault, Azure Sentinel, and other security services.
- Monitoring and Management: You establish monitoring and management solutions to track the performance, health, and utilization of Azure resources. This includes configuring monitoring alerts, logging, and analytics using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Automation and DevOps: You implement automation and DevOps practices to streamline infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management processes. This involves using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, PowerShell scripts, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
