Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Quality Engineer LOCATION: EdinburghSALARY: £68,202 to £75,000HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About This OpportunityYou will be accountable for running and leading testing across our Monthly Release cycle, assuring the quality of delivery into these releases and managing the raising of defects and backlog items for addressing either within the current Sprint or for prioritisation for future sprints. You will be working with a peer or reporting team of other Quality Engineers and will need to be detailed yet flexible as befits Agile delivery.
What will you be doing with us?
  • Leading, Innovating & working as part of an agile team
  • Looking to automate testing where appropriate, updating and streamlining the test automation framework & coding standards deployed within the team.
  • Use your experience of modern software development toolsets and demonstrate the ability to stretch into DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines
  • Defining and Leading Quality Engineering and Assurance work ensuring the highest quality of shippable products and quality artifacts.
  • Develop yourselves with industry standards, methods and tooling used across our engineering teams and introduce new concepts, approaches and tooling

What You’ll Need
  • Essential to have a deep understanding of Frameworks.
    • Developed as least one automation framework using libraries such as Selenium or Playwright
    • Knowledge of the pros and cons of different approaches
    • Familiar with the Page Object Model
  • Be highly competent in JavaScript/typescript
  • Desirable to have knowledge in other languages: C#, Java, python, VBS.
  • Competent using CLI.
    • Windows command line essential
    • Linux shell desirable
  • Experienced with Source control (GitHub Enterprise preferred)
  • Experienced with build tools such as Maven and NPM
  • Knowledge of both the software development and testing lifecycles
  • Desirable to have containerisation experience e.g. docker and how this can be used in a test automation context.
    • Using containers
    • Building custom containers
    • Knowledge of Selenoid/Selenium Grid
  • Desirable to have CI/CD experience e.g. Jenkins.
    • Knowledge of Jenkins authentication.
    • Knowledge of pipeline creation and execution on remote nodes
