Position Summary

At Empower Pharmacy, we are currently seeking a visionary Vice President of Operations to lead our extensive site operations and drive strategic initiatives across multiple dynamic functions. This pivotal role is designed for a leader who is deeply committed to operational excellence and poised to shape the future of pharmaceutical compounding and manufacturing. As the VP of Operations, you will steer our dedicated teams through the intricacies of facilities management, engineering, manufacturing, warehousing, and beyond, ensuring every element aligns perfectly with Empower's overarching goals of enhancing health and wellness through innovative medication solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accountable for site operations, initiatives, and performance, and management.
  • Provides strategic direction and leadership for all operational functions, including compounding/manufacturing, facilities management, engineering, pharmacy operations/order fulfillment, warehousing, and more.
  • Develops and implements operational strategies aligned with company goals and objectives to optimize operational efficiency, effectiveness, employee experience, and business outcomes.
  • Ensures strict adherence to regulatory requirements for facility, including pertinent state and federal regulations and other relevant standards, to maintain compliance in all operational activities.
  • Prepares for and participates in all site regulatory audits, ensuring the facility is tracking in a state of compliance.
  • Oversees site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Leads efforts to maintain the facility in a ready-regulatory state, facilitating inspections and audits.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing operations team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence and continuous improvement across all operational departments.
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within manufacturing, fulfillment, and other operational areas.
  • Implements best practices and lean methodologies to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership team (ELT) to develop and execute operational strategies that support overall business objectives and drive sustainable growth.
  • Presents past, current, and future state of operations to internal stakeholders such as ELT, as well as external investors such as the Board of Directors, potential investors, etc…

  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track progress and make data-driven decisions.
  • Responsible for capacity and utilization of facility, project execution, and ensuring capital projects are adhered to from a corporate level.
  • Monitors industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate future customer needs and stay ahead of competitors in delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Ensures all levels of management have been given clear goals that are tracked and trended against a set standard of performance metrics.
  • Fosters a culture that promotes professional growth and accountability through performance feedback and coaching.
  • Adheres to corporate governance of global standards, implemented and maintained at the site level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
  • BA or BS in a related field and 20 or more years of relevant experience in a regulated industry (preferably FDA-regulated biotech/pharmaceutical).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience managing teams in a cGMP environment required for the FDA regulated sites.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing teams in a healthcare pharmacy and/or technology environment
  • Previous experience as site head, GM, or Vice-President is required.
  • Experience in the pertaining areas of regulatory jurisdiction for the governing site required.
