NOTICE OF VACANCY Posting Date: May 20, 2024 - updated

POSITION: ABA Program Intervention Specialist, 35 hours per week during school year and up to 20 per week during the extended school year.

PAY RATE: 20.84-28.66

Part Time positions are also available.

LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: East Hampton Public Schools

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: ASAP

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

● Provide direct instruction, training, and support to students

● Provide a continuum of behavior analytic supports

● Implement teaching methodologies utilizing the principals of applied behavior analysis such as discrete trial training

● Assist in preparing, planning, and implementing students’ programs

  • Uphold ethical and professional standards

● Assist in preparing, planning, and implementing students’ programs

  • Assist students in daily routines, provide interventions to prevent injury

● Lifting up to 40 pounds, escorting and restraint may be required

● Effectively communicate with staff

● Document student’s progress, collect and maintain student data

● Participate in ongoing training and Interventionists meetings

● Provide any additional services needed to help students be successful in school

● Knowledge of PECs and ABA standards preferred but not required

● Supporting students in completing self-care/toilet routines

● Implement ABA program guidelines

● Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team

● Implement programs to reduce stereotypic, disruptive, and destructive behavior based on systematic analysis of the variables that cause and maintain the behavior and matching treatment to the determined function(s) of the behavior.

● Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Teacher, BCBA, BCaBA or Director Special Education

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Holds an Associate’s Degree or equivalent

● Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for working with children with autism or behavior challenges

● At least two years of experience working within an Applied Behavior Analysis Program preferred

● Will train ideal candidate with aptitude and interest

● Flexible, position is district wide
