Description
Essential Job Functions: Through employee’s own efforts:
· Perform all duties as per the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services CNA Training Program.
· Promote a cordial environment for residents, families, visitors, and co-workers; assist in maintaining a “home-like” environment.
· Provide or assist residents with ADLs such as but not limited to: bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, nail care, eating).
· Answer all call lights promptly and with a great attitude.
· Assist residents in promoting optimal mobility and independence.
· Follow the residents Care Plan or Service Plan, communicate any inaccuracies to the Charge Nurse.
· Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the Charge Nurse promptly.
· Complete required documentation in accordance with Community policies and State and/or Federal regulations.
· Maintain resident’s living area by ensuring that it is clean, neat and orderly.
· Follow Universal Precautions and use PPE where appropriate.
· Follow proper infection control such as safe handling of linens and contaminated items.
· Comply with all safety and sanitary standards, rules and regulations including but not limited to, wearing non-skid shoes and other appropriate attire.
· Stock and distribute supplies as directed. Follow guidelines for charging items to the residents and use them for the job without being wasteful.
· Utilize proper lift equipment following the residents Care Plan. Clean, disinfect and return all equipment to its designated storage location after each use.
· Employees are required to work weekends, holidays, and as per resident needs. This includes working other shifts, in all units, and/or staying past your shift until adequate staffing is met for resident need and regulatory compliance.
· Participate in all aspects of the Community including but not limited to: disaster preparedness teams, educational training, in-service meetings, annual training, and other trainings as assigned.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
