Part Time Maintenace Assistance needed for an established Skilled Nursing / Assisted Living Facility

Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a Maintenance Assitant to provide preventive maintenance and repair equipment, furnishings, and property as needed, and maintain a safe and attractive environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain work order procedures to ensure timely repairs
• Maintain all equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
• Maintain regular scheduled maintenance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and seasonal schedule
• Ensure safe operating procedures at all times, including safe storage of hazardous chemicals
• Assist with painting facilities as needed
• Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, etc. to the administrator immediately, and correct unsafe conditions
• Coordinate with other departments' schedules to minimize interruptions of normal facility operations
• Availability to respond to emergencies at the facility at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director

Skills

• Proven experience as maintenance technician
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
• Strong knowledge and experience in painting
• Driver's license in good standing
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, perform difficult physical labor, and bend, twist, and stand for long period of time
• High school diploma or equivalent
