Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk

Work Location: Durant, OK

Division/Department: Inventory

Reports To: Inventory Control Supervisor

The role of the Inventory Clerk is to monitor warehouse and manufacturing inventory levels. The Inventory Clerk will work closely with the Inventory Control Supervisor to effectively manage and coordinate the flow of all materials to and from the manufacturing facility. They will coordinate the transfer of raw materials, parts and finished products between various production areas and external warehouses. Many other essential functions will include:

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure all parts/supplies are ready for the manufacturing jobs
  • Ensure material inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules
  • Establish purchasing needs and schedule orders for consumables based on cyclical min/max levels
  • Collect and analyze data on current orders and production levels
  • Requisition material and establish sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job priorities and material availability
  • Examine material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications
  • Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules
  • Compute materials required to complete job orders by applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes
  • May arrange for repair and assembly of material or part
  • Assist with establishing an Inventory Management System
  • Assist with establishing Point of Use Locations and monitoring inventory levels
  • Assist with cycle counts
  • Must maintain a current forklift certification.

Education and/or Work Experience Preference:

  • Efficient.
  • Physical ability to complete job duties, which may include standing for long periods, working in a space that lacks climate control or lifting objects with an established maximum weight.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately.
  • Attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Good technical and mechanical skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push/pull, climb, kneel, squat, crawl, bend, reach.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
