CJ Drilling, Inc. is a nationwide, 100% women owned and operated business specializing in foundation drilling, substation civil and crane rental. The company was started in 2003 as a turn-key foundation drilling company with capabilities in heavy hauling, rebar cage construction, foundation drilling and concrete construction serving both utility and infrastructure industries. Our provided services today also include duct bank construction, manhole vault installations and crane rental.
Due to our continued growth, we are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager that will both assist in estimating and project managing construction jobs. The position will be out of our Dundee, IL location.
The key responsibilities of the position include the following:
· Perform take-offs for job estimating and assist Project Manager in estimating jobs
· Assist in project planning, scheduling and completion of project binders
· Procure material and tools
· Work with Safety leadership and field supervision to ensure compliance to our Safety Program
· Monitor and report on production and financial performance
· Ensure that bid margins are achieved.
· Document control (material submittals, RFIs, change orders, etc)
· Ensure data integrity in B2W by monitoring time and production, material and consumable data input accuracy
· Oversee environmental program compliance
· Perform job close-out and quality documentation
· Other duties as requested
The key position requirements are:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Associate Degree in Construction Management, or related estimating and project managing construction jobs in Foundation Drilling, Concrete Construction, or Utility Transmission Line.
· Willingness to work in office and to travel (jobs completion time ranges from a few days to a few months)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly verbally and in writing
· Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
· Understanding of construction processes
· Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
