Job Summary: The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for engaging the public
through implementation of the organization’s annual fundraising and marketing
strategy and plan.
Reports to: Director of Philanthropy

Salary Range: $60,485 (Median) to $72,580 (Maximum)
Job Location: Duluth or Grand Rapids, MN
Essential Functions:
1. Personally commit to and support a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where all voices are sought, heard, and respected.
2. Keep up to date on industry trends, have working knowledge of the Feeding America Partner Food Bank Agreement requirements, information contained on HungerNet, and the Learning Hub, as it relates to the Marketing and Communications Manager position.
3. Cultivate positive relations with agency and community partners, program participants, staff, volunteers, donors and other constituents.
4. Work with the Director of Philanthropy and other development staff to support the organization’s fundraising and marketing strategy and achievement of strategic goals.
5. Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the annual multi-channel marketing plan in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy.
6. Ensure communication and materials are brand consistent, informative, and accurately convey the organization’s mission, vision, programs and services; as well as adhere to Feeding America Partner Agreement requirements.
7. Work with the graphic designer, printer, and other vendors to develop electronic and printed communication materials including (but not limited to) direct mail, logos, graphics, advertisements, signs, truck wraps, brochures, fliers, posters, postcards, and other assets.
8. Monitor inventory of, and order, letterhead, envelopes, business cards, volunteer gifts, staff apparel, thank you cards, etc. and maintain positive relationships with product vendors.
9. Create, implement, monitor, and evaluate Social Media (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram) to ensure broad public support and achievement of strategic goals.
10. Manage the website to ensure timely and engaging content and optimal public engagement.
11. Develop and implement electronic/email communication to engage targeted marketing audiences.
12. Manage and evaluate digital marketing strategy including (but not limited to) paid advertising, SEO (E.g., Google AdWords), etc.
13. Respectfully gather and ensure ethical use photos, stories and testimonials for communication materials adhering to established compensation and privacy policies.
14. Nurture regional media relations and other pertinent communication partners. Write press releases and communication materials and submit strategic content to regional media and/or other partners.
15. Update and maintain regional media and communication lists/database.
16. Ensure development of audio, video, and other materials for dissemination.
17. Assist in the coordination and host of tours and represent the organization at regional meetings, events, and activities.
18. Assist in managing and coordinating the organization’s internal and external special events. Assist staff, board and committee members with the recruitment and coordination of special event and program sponsors.
19. Cultivate positive internal communication environment and promote effective communication to ensure staff are informed of external initiatives.
20. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy and/or President/CEO.
