Federal Staffing Specialist Up to $65 / hour or more for the right candidate 100% remote, direct hire*Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a federal staffing specialist with our customer on a 100% remote basis.

This is a direct hire opportunity.*Job Description : *The federal staffing specialist provides professional support and / or technical assistance in areas of federal staffing.

  • Duties and Responsibilities : Develop, refine, and deploy Agency training, job aid, standard operating procedures (SOP), process maps and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for HR and HR customers (employees, managers).
  • Provide guidance when applicable policy documents require interpretation.* Assist managers with developing template job analysis for standard positions.
  • Assist managers with developing assessment strategies.* Develop vacancy templates for recruitment.* Adhere to OPM Requirements on Hiring Reform and other OPM, Department, and Agency mandates.
  • Knowledge of current OPM regulations.* Perform advice and counsel related to qualification requirements, recruitment sources and applicable automation tools (automated staffing systems) and timeframe.
  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors, managers, and employees regarding recruitment and employment policies and procedures.
  • Provide input to management on recruitment and placement issues.* Use various appointing authorities such as Direct Hire, Veterans Recruitment Appointment, Schedules A, B, and D, 30% or more disabled Veterans, etc.
  • Conduct job analysis and drafting vacancy announcements.* Assist with applying veterans’ preference by reviewing military documents (Form DD214 / Veterans Administration letters).
  • Research and interpret OPM qualification standards in rating job applications.* Prepare and issue merit promotion certificates of the best-qualified candidates.
  • Process personnel actions in accordance with the OPM Guide to Processing Personnel Actions.* Assist with employment case file management.
  • Support employee on boarding and new employee orientation activities.* Determining priorities and managing work.* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Written / oral communication skills.* Perform projects through utilization of automated systems and web-based applications.

  • Other Duties : *As assigned by management team.*Travel : *No travel is expected for this position.*Required Education and Experience : Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in federal HR staffing.
  • DEU Certification is required for this position. Preferred Education and Experience : *Bachelor’s Degree*Communication Skills : Excellent oral and written communications required.
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels.
  • Capable of having strategic discussions both internally and externally.*Technical Skills : Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word) experience required.
  • Experience with USAStaffing required.*Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills : Understands leadership development and engagement techniques;

develops and builds teams.* Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to solve complex problems using analysis and creativity to successfully provide a solution.
