As the Retail Sales Associate, you are the first person customers engage with when entering our store so it is your responsibility to make our customers feel welcomed by providing a friendly greeting. From there you will ask questions to determine the customer's needs and recommend products and services to meet their needs. This typically includes quoting and ordering special order materials, creating purchase orders, processing returns, and scheduling deliveries. The Retail Sales Associate also handles receiving, stocking, and organizing in-store products.

To be successful, you will need strong sales and customer service skills. You will need to be comfortable with computers and point of sales selling systems. This position requires that the associate be organized and have strong communication skills with co-workers and customers. Basic math skills (e.g. dividing, multiplying, determining area, conversions, etc.) are also crucial to success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a positive, ambitious attitude and demonstrate an eagerness to learn. Other desirable skills for this position include residential construction knowledge, selling skills, conflict resolution, and building materials knowledge.
