Transport products and supplies between Lovejoy manufacturing locations, service companies and suppliers. Make local drop offs and pickups from, plating, balancing, nitriding and passivation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land via a 24 ft box truck and/or cargo van. Deliveries made to and from manufacturing plants, suppliers, service organizations or customers.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform or schedule preventative maintenance in conjunction with MK and associates.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods, log miles spent driving and, retain fuel/toll receipts
- Load and unload Trucks
- Comply with CDL truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Assist with transportation of the product within the facility.
- Managing proof of delivery paperwork from customers and suppliers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Can Pass a DOT physical
- Valid CDL Class A driving license
- Being self-motivated
- Having good communication and interpersonal skills
- Being able to work independently
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 2 years driving class 8 trucks is required
- CDL class A license is required
