Position Description

The Director of Project Management position will oversee the transition from customer purchase order to product(s) delivery for multiple contracts at one time. The PM will work with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Quality to plan, implement, and track specific, critical project deliverables. This role is crucial for the success of each individual project within HRI and to meet company annual goals. The Director of Project Management position requires a balance of skills across management, communication, and technical competencies.

Highlights of Responsibilities

· Project Planning and Development**: Establishing project scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets. Coordinating with different departments, such as engineering, procurement, and production, to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned.

· Resource Management**: Work with operations to allocate and manage resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within budget.

· Quality Control and Compliance**: Work with quality to ensure that the manufacturing process meets industry standards and customer expectations.

· Communication**: Effectively communicate across departments and senior management to ensure projects are on track.

· Risk Management**: Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. Ensuring that any issues that arise during the project are promptly addressed and resolved.

· Project Tracking and Reporting**: Monitoring project progress and making adjustments as necessary. Preparing and presenting regular reports on project status to senior management and other stakeholders.

· Client Relations**: Working with the sales team to understand the customer’s needs and ensure that the project meets their expectations. Maintaining ongoing communication with sales to provide updates and gather feedback.

· Continuous Improvement**: Analyzing project outcomes and identifying areas for improvement in future projects. Staying abreast of industry trends and advancements to enhance project management practices.

· Budget Management**: Overseeing the project budget, ensuring costs are controlled and the project remains financially viable.

· Collaboration with Other Departments**: Collaborating with other departments such as sales, marketing, and engineering to align project goals with the overall business strategy.

Critical Competencies / Experience

· The ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple conflicting tasks and changing priorities.

· Proactive team player comfortable working in a multi-disciplined fast paced team environment.

· Excellent writing, presentation, and documentation skills.

· Understanding complex manufacturing processes and technologies used in their construction.

· Desire to learn and apply the latest technology in new product development and improvements of current products.

· Excellent computer skills, particularly in SolidWorks, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with SolidWorks Simulation tools, CFD, or other similar analysis software a plus.

Knowledge

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field, along with experience in manufacturing and project management leadership.

· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are also essential.

Minimum Years of Experience Necessary

· 10 years of Manufacturing and Project Management leadership experience required.
