Responsibilities:

• Perform field investigations to determine existing conditions and define design/construction requirements.* Prepare designs suitable for drafting.* Prepare construction cost estimates and/or quantity take-offs.* Assist in the development of project design fees and project budgets.* Prepare technical specifications and construction drawings for bidding.* Perform design calculations using engineering formulas and skills.* Prepare various permit packages.* Assist other designers and engineers on various design and permitting issues.* Exercise a wide degree of independent thought and judgment.

Qualifications:

• BS from ABET accredited engineering program. Additional experience may be substituted in Lieu of Bachelor's Degree. 
• A minimum of 12 years in the practice of engineering office design. Experience should be in a department specific discipline. 
• Intermediate to advances computer ability using technical software. 
• Advanced skill level with drafting techniques. 
• Possess core competency in assigned discipline. 
• Good written and oral expression in English.
