Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for all patients undergoing outpatient procedures.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. The RN will play a critical role in the perioperative care of patients, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical nursing, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans before, during, and after surgery.
  • Provide preoperative education and postoperative instructions to patients and their families.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and maintain accurate records during surgical procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Surgical Assistance:
  • Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Support surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks as directed.
  • Maintain a sterile field and follow proper aseptic techniques.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide cohesive care.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team to anticipate needs and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including medications administered, procedures performed, and any complications.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, facility policies, and best practices in surgical care.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing critical care and performing life-saving measures as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advancements in surgical nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in perioperative nursing practices and surgical procedures.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move patients or equipment as needed.
  • Manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment precisely.
