Bachelor's degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR Bachelor's degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR one year of satisfactory performance as an Accountant 1 in the County service is required; OR five years of Accounting experience may substitute for the required four year of college education.

This role is based at the Elections Department Headquarters in Doral and involves advanced professional or supervisory accounting work. The incumbent will plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate accountants and clerical staff. Their responsibilities include maintaining financial records, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to established accounting principles and methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Work Assignment: The incumbent will oversee the recording and classification of accounting transactions, maintain journals and ledgers, and prepare periodic financial statements, reports, summaries, and tabulations.
• Financial Analysis and Problem-Solving: They will analyze financial reports, budget documents, and related accounting papers to identify causes of out-of-balance conditions. Additionally, they will advise superiors on financial controls and propose solutions for complex accounting problems.
• Process Improvement and Recommendations: The role involves studying, developing, and refining accounting procedures. The incumbent will recommend revisions to forms, account classifications, and statements to enhance productivity and clarity.
• Budget Preparation and Management: The position requires assisting in budget estimates, providing budgetary information, and compiling budgets.
• Complex Financial Statements and Special Studies: The role includes preparing or supervising the preparation of complex financial statements, budgetary studies, and special studies related to computerized accounting systems and departmental operations.
• Coordination and Training: The incumbent will coordinate accounting activities with other departmental financial operations and provide guidance and training to subordinates.
