Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Clinician (Bilingual) for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our nonprofit clients in Dobbs Ferry, NY .
Position Overview: The US Bilingual Clinician for the US Shelter, under close supervision of the Lead Clinician, is responsible for:
Conducting a mental health assessment for all unaccompanied children (UC) in the US Program, to enhance the optimal emotional well-being of each child; identify and treat UC with mental health symptoms and provide crisis intervention. Provide ongoing individual and group psychotherapy. Develop Individual Service Plans (ISP) and 30 day Reviews and Updates. Provide clinical input in order to ensure that each child is receiving the most appropriate individual and group supervision. Participate in Weekly Rounds Meetings to formulate mental health treatment plans.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Clinical :
- Coordinate Intake Interviews; participate in the assessment of the UC's suitability for placement and assure a well coordinated admission for each new resident.
- Develop Individual Service Plans (ISP) and 30 day Reviews and Updates.
- Participate in Weekly Team Meetings; implement on-going review of youth's treatment goals.
- Utilize clinical skills in daily interaction with youth on an individual, family, or group basis and through team meetings guide and monitor the quality of the services being provided to youth during their stay.
- Present a clear and clinically well formulated view of the youth at case conferences, which will assist in decision-making regarding treatment and permanency for the youth.
- Responsible for dealing with behavioral incidents as needed and to ensure that each child's immediate and on-going mental health needs are being met.
- Responsible for holding weekly group therapy sessions with all children on caseload in order to address such issues as improving their social skills, assisting them to better manage their behaviors, handle differences in culture and societal norms, and to prepare the youth for discharge.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical records on all clients.
- Knowledgeable of the requirements for all assessment and reporting systems (DCS, Federal, State etc.) as well as the documentation of the delivery of services in a format consistent with these rules, regulations, standards and expectations.
- Must have a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) and two years of post-graduate direct clinical service experience; a Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or other relevant behavioral science in which clinical training and experience is a program requirement. Approved by ORR Program Officer Supervisor that the 2 year internship required to obtain Master's degree is equivalent to the two years post-graduate direct clinical service experience requirement. It is strongly encouraged that Clinician be licensed or licensed eligible in New York State.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to manage and promote a therapeutic environment, taking into account the varying clinical needs of each child.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
