Tool and Die Maker Details :

• Direct Hire position
• $58, to $66, / annually
• First Shift
• Performs preventative maintenance of Progressive and Transfer Dies
• Helps maintain an effective preventative maintenance program. Ensures all tools are properly fit for use
• Ensures dies are press ready as the production schedule requires. And that they will produce parts that meet the quality target, at required SPM
• Supports the Press Room with die set ups and changeovers
• Attends die related press calls and effectively diagnoses the problem at hand and minimizes production down time by expediting the repair
• Verifies the conformance of parts produced by the dies, to expected quality specifications
• Ability to run all Tool Room manual machines. ie. surface grinders, drill press, mill, lathe
• Must have a personal toolbox containing hand tools common to the Tool & Die maker trade
• Proficient in working with blueprints, understands GD&T
• Capable of working with common Die construction tool steels
• Able to weld, Mig / Tig a variety of tool steels preferred
• Participates in ongoing continuous Improvement processes
• Take direction from Supervisor / Lead Hand, as applicable
• Protects own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures
• Maintains safety standard and cleanliness of workplace and equipment as outlined by company policy
• Any other reasonable request made by management

Tool and Die Maker Qualifications :

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a stamping facility as a Tool Room die repair person
• Experience operating stamping presses and supporting die set ups
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential functions satisfactorily
• Competent in the operation of standard Tool Room equipment
• Able to work with limited guidance and supervision
• Able to troubleshoot tooling problems and estimate timelines for repair
• High School diploma or GED
• Recognized technical trade certificate Tool & Die Maker or Journeyman / Journeywoman is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a tool and die setting repairing or building progressive and / or transfer dies
• Applicant may be subject to a background check
