The Employment PlacementSpecialist, Community Correction s is responsiblefor providing and coordinating employment programs to assist andsupport resident / inmates in their job search activities to secureand maintain gainful employment.
Develop, coordinate, present andfacilitate employment programs / workshops (i.e. job readiness,portfolio and resume development, interview technique training, jobreadiness).
Provide resident / inmateswith employment assistance by matching the resident / inmate’s skilllevel through job placement resources, online resources (i.
e. DOLwebsite and America’s Career Info Net) and other communityresources in conjunction with programs and case managementstaff.
Assist in coordinating on-siteemployment job fairs or in providing resident / inmates referrals tocommunity job fairs.
Develop and maintains relationshipswith community employers, career centers, trade schools, socialservice agencies and other employment resources to assistresidents / inmates with job searchactivities.
Facilitate and monitorsresident / inmate use of facility computer lab to include telephonesystem for job searching, resume writing, Internet usage, etc.
Regularly reviews job search verification activities ofresident / inmate.
Qualifications :
High School diploma, GEDcertification or equivalent isrequired.
One year of experience in humanresources, employment resource or a related field isrequired.
Ability to demonstratecustomer service skills in managing difficultresidents / inmates.
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writingand apply problem solving techniques to complexissues.
A valid driver'slicense is required.
