We are looking for a Staff Data Scientist to join our Data Science team, reporting to the Director of Data Science. In this role, you will turn ideas into AI solutions by working with our Software Engineering and Product teams. We are embarking on the most transformative change in our business and technology history, and our Machine Learning (ML) Engineers are at the forefront of this evolution. By leading groundbreaking projects and initiatives, you have the unique opportunity to shape the way networks are configured, managed, and secured, making network security easy for our customers.

You are the ideal candidate if you have a knack for implementing AI and ML solutions, you enjoy collaborating with engineers, product managers, and sales, and want to simplify networking and network security for our customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Play a critical role in setting the direction and goals for our AI Ops and Generative AI efforts, focusing on project impact and ML system design
  • Adapt standard machine learning methods to harness the full potential of cloud computing and GPUs
  • Lead the development of ML best practices and positively influence our engineering culture, fostering collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools, using machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models, to address recommendation, classification, and optimization challenges
  • Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements, create a practical feature roadmap, and work in tandem with the Engineering team to deliver ML solutions

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in software engineering or a relevant field, or 7 years of experience with a PhD
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence, NLP, or related technical fields
  • Demonstrated experience in developing machine learning models at scale, from inception to achieving business impact
  • Knowledge of developing and debugging in both Spark and Python
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, project ownership, and setting technical direction for teams
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a relevant technical field
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in computer science or related technical field preferred
  • Exposure to architectural patterns or large-scale software applications preferred

What Success Looks Like:

After six months, you will…

  • Demonstrate a strong command of AI Ops and Generative AI technologies, with a clear understanding of how they contribute to our networking DDI and network security solutions
  • Successfully lead and deliver critical AIOps and Generative AI projects, showcasing your technical expertise and ability to drive excellence across teams
  • Collaborate effectively with data scientists, data engineers, and Product management, actively contributing to the development of innovative solutions for helping our customers in configuring, managing, troubleshooting, and securing their DDI infrastructure
  • Be recognized as a go-to person for addressing complex online/production performance and evaluation issues, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of the interaction between machine learning systems and the surrounding network infrastructure

  • Play a pivotal role in transforming our AI Ops and Generative AI capabilities, significantly advancing the way people connect around the world through our software and hardware offerings
  • Drive innovation and improvement in our AI Ops and Generative AI projects, resulting in the development of cutting-edge tools and scalable classifiers that set new industry standards
  • Establish yourself as an expert in AI Ops and Generative AI within our organization, providing thought leadership and strategic insights to advance our transformative initiatives further

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share our compensation philosophy. At Infoblox, we believe in paying for performance. You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to the location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education, and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position is $189,400 - $288,530 plus corporate bonus.
