Drink at the Well INC / Hon's Honey is Hiring a Program Manager Near Curtis, MD

The Well is a life development center that seeks to inspire, empower, and equip women and families to navigate life’s challenges. We invite at-risk women to participate in a program wherein they attend weekly educational classes and meet with a mentor who journeys alongside them. Success is measured by achieving the life goals set by a mentee to help them understand their value, identity and created purpose and to help them be self sustained. The Well now has a social enterprise that employs women giving them full opportunity called Hon’s Honey. We foster this in a safe community to encourage healing from various challenges where trauma is the common denominator. It is our desire to see a woman become self-sustained. We believe that love can heal and change is possible. We believe faith is an important element in their healing.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably a degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field)
  • An understanding that faith is an important element to one’s growth
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is flexible as well as able to work productively with frequent interruptions
  • Experience volunteer directing or managing
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities autonomously in addition to being a team player
  • Demonstrates capability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Experience with women at risk and trauma-informed care
  • Experience facilitating small groups (preferred)
  • 28- 32 hours weekly: 8 am-3 pm Monday-Thursday
  • Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job (occasional evenings and weekends)

Program Manager Responsibilities:

COR Life Development Program

  • Announcements and Opportunities: Maintain and distribute an ongoing list to be shared with mentees and program staff.
  • Monthly Group Activities: Plan, manage, and communicate monthly activities and outings for mentees and alumni.
  • Mentee Volunteering: Maintain mentee volunteer teams (brown bag lunches, Hope Chest, Outreach) and engage weekly with mentees working less than 30 hours.
  • COR Life Development Workshops: Manage the schedule for monthly lead and weekly teachers for the rolling 6 months, assisting with recruiting teachers as needed.

Drop-In Programs

Brown Bag Lunches:

  • Actively manage the in-kind donation needs list, communicating needs with the Marketing Team and Director of the program to engage corporate and church partners.
  • Manage inventory and storage, overseeing the mentee volunteer team with production, including quality assurance for each lunch.
  • Engage partners in employee and small group drives

Produce Distribution:

  • Manage logistics for weekly produce distribution efforts.

Hope Chest (Free Community Clothing Closet)

  • Encourage, support, and grow the volunteer team for maintaining the Hope Chest storefront and operating the closet on Thursday afternoons, including window displays, signage (updates needed), stocking, and supplying clothing, shoes, linens, toiletries, and hygiene products.

Outreach Programs

Feet to the Street, Oasis Shower Program, and Community Cleanups:

  • Use best practices to build street outreach teams consisting of volunteer social workers, local residents, and church representatives to distribute resources, fliers, brown bag lunches, and offer prayers to neighbors.
  • Coordinate with the Community Cleanup lead for conducting monthly street cleanups throughout the Curtis Bay neighborhood.

Women of Hope (Weekly Life Group for Women)

  • Assist with planning studies, communicating with leaders, and maintaining a list of potential leaders and upcoming calendar events.
  • Oversee technical needs, worship songs, icebreakers, and announcements to ensure they run smoothly at the beginning of each week.

Lunch and Learn Electives - for COR Life Mentees and Community Members

  • Maintain a running list of contacts for current and potential experts to host Thursday afternoon Lunch and Learn Workshops, reaching out to prospects as needed.
  • Maintain the calendar for the website, COR Life announcements, and bulletin board postings at The Well.

Volunteer Management

  • Coordinate with the Director of Programs for scheduling and conducting monthly volunteer training.
  • Create strategies for simple ways to engage volunteers in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Develop call-to-action content inviting people to fill specific positions and pairing them with volunteer teams.
  • Hold monthly "What’s Happening" Lunch Zoom meetings and quarterly volunteer team meetings to improve communications and engagement.
  • Keep accurate records of the number served, with zip codes documented and submitted weekly for reports and strategic planning.

Community Events

  • Assist the Director of Programs with logistics for inviting vendors, requesting in-kind donations, creating fliers, and tracking attendees for events like summer FUNFEST.

Event Management

  • Maintain a calendar of events for all Program, Outreach, Volunteer, Speaking, and Resource Tabling events.
  • Assign and confirm staff or lead volunteer representation.

Impact Reporting

  • Keep detailed records of numbers served, with zip codes, for all programs, outreach, and volunteer activities for monthly reports, grants, and strategic planning.
  • Assist Director of Program with gathering data needed for board reporting and grant applications.
  • Create relevant content for newsletter updates and appeals.
  • Document and update best practices for all program administration in policies and procedures on the Drive.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 32 per week
