Rhode Island Energy is Hiring a Regulatory specialist Near Cumberland, RI

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the PUC liaison and ensure systemwide consistency in the application of Chapter 10 and other RI regulations.
  • Develop process improvements to support the goals and objectives of the CCC, coach, counsel, and train employees as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes or to apply technology applications in ways that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide communication materials to ensure consistency among the CCC and our contractors in applying all RI Regulations and requirements.
  • Act as an in-house expert on the interpretation and application of RI regulations related to disputes, complaint handling and collections.
  • Oversee reporting compliance for all DPUC reporting requirements. Provide reminders to submitters 30 days prior to report due date.
  • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service.

This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of five years' experience in the energy industry with a focus on the appropriate one of the following : credit and collection, billing, business operations and planning, customer service, regulatory and or finance.

Broad knowledge of customer service systems

Broad knowledge of metering, billing, and credit and collections regulatory requirements.

Broad knowledge of all other regulatory rules

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs : Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to function efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
