Pioneer Civil Engineering Services, Inc. (PCES) is currently seeking qualified construction inspectors for Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) District 6 Contracts. SHA District 6 comprises of Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties.The construction inspector classifications are as follows:1. Transportation Engineer (TE) from TE-1 and onwards (Entry to high-level)2. Transportation Engineer Technicians (TET) from TET-1 and onwards (Entry to high-level)Experience Requirements: (Requirements may vary depending on the Classification)• Variable years of experiences for relevant transportation inspection for roads and/or bridge construction with relevant certifications• Candidates must have construction inspection experience with either roadway, bridge, storm water management, or facilities involving MDOT SHA Standards and Specifications (Preferred) or other Agency Standards and specifications• Contract documentation including Inspector Daily Reports (IDR) and progress reports• Following certifications/trainings or ability to obtain them after acceptance of job offer:o Relevant MARTCP certificates (as applicable to the project type)o SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager’s Training Course Cardo MDE RPC Cardo SHA E&S Yellow Cardo OSHA 10-hour trainingo SHA Core Trainings after acceptance of Job OfferGeneral Requirements: (Requirements may vary depending on the Classification)• High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate (TET)• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Accredited University or Equivalency Certificate if Bachelor is from Foreign Country (TE)• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and personal vehicle for travel to and from job sites/office• Good communication skills, ability to read/interpret plans, standards, and specifications, writing and drawing skills necessary to complete inspection reports and sketch books, and basic math for quantity estimation• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Word & Excel) desirable• Experience with desktops, laptops or tablets for preparing electronic IDRs and photographic documentation• Should be available and willing to work nights and overtime, as neededBenefits:• Competitive salary• Paid Holidays• Vacation/Sick/Personal Days• Healthcare Benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision)• 401(k)Please email your resume at ------------ or call at ------------ for any questions.
