Tennessee Board of Regents is Hiring a Vice President of Student Affairs Near Crump, TN

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTVice President of Student AffairsThe Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Vice President of Student Affairs. The Vice President of Student Affairs is to support the College President in administering and directing College affairs. He/she serves as the visionary officer for the Student Affairs department and ensures quality, innovative, and student-centered services. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing all aspects of student affairs for a multi-campus college including recruiting, retention, counseling, financial aid, student grievances, and placement. This position will comply with TBR and accreditation standards as well as federal guidelines. This role administers the TBR policies and procedures that apply to the area; directs the planning, development, and implementation of all aspects of quality student services to meet the community's present and future needs. This position also works closely with other team members to ensure TCAT Crump serves our campus and community needs.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support the President with continuous review, revision, implementation, developing and monitoring of operational goals and objectives, while developing and making recommendations to the President.
  • Provide leadership and vision in planning, budgeting, staffing, and policy development.
  • Provide leadership for the training and motivation of assigned staff to make full use of individual capabilities and meet college growth and demands.
  • Demonstrated success in creating comprehensive, student-centered programs and services that increased enrollment/retention/graduation.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of Student Activities, Student Organizations, Disability Services, Student Recognition, Graduation, Student Title VI and Title IX.
  • Provide support to students at instructional service centers and extension campuses.
  • Ensure student conduct, progress and attendance is monitored and addressed as needed.
  • Plan and execute special projects and events in alignment with the goals and objectives of the college including student activities, student awards, and community service projects.
  • Responsible for Student Information System (BANNER) including enrollment and termination; Customer Relations Management system (SLATE); plus all reports dealing with student information.
  • Responsible for accuracy of student records including reports and maintenance of files.
  • Oversee and participate in the compilation, maintenance, and submission of reports as required by federal, state, and accrediting agencies.
  • Oversee and participate in the student Financial Aid process. Making sure that all federal, state, guidelines are followed.
  • Responsible for Student Handbook, campus publications, social media, marketing, website, and public relations promotions.
  • Responsible for student grievances.
  • Provide leadership for Strategic Enrollment Management Workgroup in developing and evaluating a college recruitment plan and admissions strategies.
  • Assist in conducting new employee orientation.
  • Assist in grant writing proposals.
  • Assist with development and implementation of professional development for staff and faculty.
  • Conduct annual staff evaluations.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in education or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Council on Occupational accreditation requirements, Tennessee Promise, and Tennessee Reconnect would be beneficial.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, student information systems such as Banner, and various social media.
  • Ability to interpret complex governmental regulations; to relate to a diverse faculty, staff, and student population; to deal tactfully with the public; to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions; and to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly.
  • Good analytical skills and exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation skills), combined with an orientation for details and creativity. Ability to concentrate/focus for long periods.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours, and travel to off campus locations, schools, businesses, industries, conferences, and workshops.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Salary: $67,283 - $87,381: Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines
