ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician - Electrician performs a variety of repairs and predictive/preventive maintenance activities to the grounds, building, or equipment to ensure the continuity of manufacturing operations or compliance with Federal, State, or Local regulatory requirements. This is accomplished through the performance of essential duties and responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services. Complete grounds work as directed, including picking up trash, sweeping parking lot and dumpster areas, and maintaining other exterior areas. Regularly inspect all electrical and power units. Detect malfunctions and defects in electrical systems and repair the same. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices (such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, etc.) to ensure compatibility and safety of the system. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers' specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Education and Experience: Successfully completed an accredited Electrician Training Course or equivalent. 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Programming. Skills and Abilities: Must be well-versed in Allen Bradley PLC Programming. Ability to read and write effectively. Requires the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimals and fractions. Work from drawings, specifications, and formulas involving limited detail. Use and interpret instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters. Use adjustable measurement devices such as tape measures, calipers, scales, etc. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schematic, or schedule form. Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand. Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stoop, climb stairs, and crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
