Direct Support Professional (Part-Time, Weekends/Every Other Weekend) and Full-Time Positions Available (W/Benefits)

Job Purpose
To Support participants in the achievement of their goals while ensuring safely and monitoring of well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Participants to explore educational, social, recreational resources and employment opportunities in the community utilizing agency vehicles and/or public/alternative transportation. Facilitate and provide Discover, training, support, inclusion and accommodations for participants in the community and at work. Independently engage persons served in structured and unstructured community activities and volunteer opportunities through the use of agency vehicles and or public/alternative transportation. Facilitate/write meaningful community-based outcomes that align with each participant's team. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local rules and statues. Maintain an environment free of health and safety hazards.
Establish, maintain and promote excellent working relationships among participants, service coordinators, community sites and employers. Develop partnerships with community resources utilizing networking skills.
Uphold the rights, dignity and respect of all persons served as well as promote independence and self-advocacy skills. Teach new skills in community settings (both hard and soft skills) utilizing systematic training procedures. Provide assistance with meals, personal care and transport participants to and from community and job sites. Ensure the health and safety of all participants.
Attend all meetings as scheduled to provide input for the development of the PCP. Maintain records and prepare reports that are compliant with agency policy and procedures. Monitor progress and prepare reports detailing activities progress and future services. Participate in all required meetings and staff training. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needs of the participant served.
Somerset Community Services, Inc. has several worksites throughout Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset counties. This position is for a Residential Direct Support Professional. Placement will be at a residential worksite located in one of the listed counties.
Essential Functions

Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend, stoop or stand for long periods of time and assist in lifting various weights, including transfer and movement of participants. Must be able to use a variety of adaptive equipment such as wheel chairs, Hoyer lifts and raised toilet seat etc. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
