Job Summary:
Ohio Farms Packing is a family owned and operated, USDA regulated, food manufacturing and harvest facility. We are looking for experienced Quality Control and Food Safety Technician. Someone with a focus on quality consistent products, as well as the passion to build, and lead a culture of food safety to ensure that our products meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer. Ohio Farms Packing is looking for a first shift, Quality Control Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position with growth potential and medical benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitor GMP’s for compliance
· Aids quality manager
· Prepare daily production samples for analysis
· Effectively communicate issues and concerns regarding product quality or safety to the quality team and production through written and verbal communication
· Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP rules and regulations
· Demonstrate leadership qualities and integrity as well as confidence in actions, decisions and ensuring that quality expectations are met
· Verify production sheets are complete and accurate; Conduct sanitation verification swabs and environmental monitoring
· Work with Maintenance, Production and Sanitation Department to achieve quality standards
· Ensure lab equipment is calibrated, maintained and functioning properly
· Ensure all records of testing are complete, legible, complete and conformance to standards
· USDA Sampling
Preferred Education / Training:
4 year B.S. degree or equivalent experience/education combination.
3-4 years of job experience.
Background in food industry preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Bilingual (English/Spanish)– Preferred not required.
Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong organizational skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish)– Preferred not required.
Ability to work overtime including weekends when needed.
Time Management.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift up to 60 lbs. must be able to: step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed.
Work in a cold refrigerated environment.
