Unilever is Hiring a Training Lead Near Covington, TN

The Covington factory is a 24/7 high paced dynamic work environment employing 750 associates on site delivering ice cream to our consumers. We achieve success through collaborative cross functional teams leading the delivery of products to our supply chain. To meet the skills and capabilities needs for the Future Fit Organization, people development is essential in manufacturing. The Training Lead is instrumental in designing and delivering training to ensure the safety of our colleagues, quality of our products and reduction of top losses. They are responsible for developing the site-wide training agenda in alignment with the factory master plan. They are a member of the site MANEX (Manufacturing Excellence) Team and lead a team of training coordinators for knowledge development for all levels of factory employees.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Training Lead facilitates all technical training interventions for the Covington manufacturing facility and is experienced in operational, mechanical, and electrical concept application for a manufacturing environment. The Training Lead possesses an excellent ability to teach, coach and mentor. The Training Lead will create, coordinate, and deliver, as needed, course and field training for both hourly and salaried employees at the Covington, TN manufacturing facility.

They will liaise with other internal and external training providers, and agencies where applicable. They will co-lead the (PD) People Development Pillar where they will maintain Human Error database, do Skill Gap Analysis, execute the training based on Learning Styles of people and measure effectiveness of the training. They will also support kaizen projects by delivering technical skills needed. They are responsible for the proper maintenance and safe running of on-site training facilities, equipment, and materials. The Training Lead will manage training records and track/report training key performance metrics within the PD Pillar and Training Team.

You’re a natural leader: You lead the factory designated trainers, lead training curriculum development for skilled trades trainers, create training content with department and line managers and facilitate factory training, learnings forums, and teams to deliver actions that drive performance.

You’re a strategy guru: You identify the developmental needs of the factory based on the factory Master Plan and create effective solutions that grow individual capabilities and reduce factory human error losses.

You’re a dot connector: You link all resources together including employees from all functions in the facility, in the organization, as well as agencies, local universities/colleges and government entities with your innovative approach to learning, training, skills development and total program management.

You’re a culture & change champion: You empower the team through growing their knowledge and applying to eliminate cost and waste from the business with an owner’s mindset. You build relationships that foster a confidence in all employees.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • A Bachelor’s degree in technical field and/or comparable/relevant work experience is required. Large scale (500 ) training program management experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with Technical skills delivery and able to Teach, Coach and Mentor.
  • An inspirational teaching approach is a requirement for the role.
  • Technical aptitude/exposure is needed to understand manufacturing operations, continuous improvement methodology and support knowledge transfer.
  • A safety and quality mindset are a non-negotiable attribute of the position.
  • Technical competence coupled with leadership qualities/skills such as communication, integrity, and commitment are vital.
  • Personal learning agility and flexibility to meet ever evolving business demands and learning industry advances in digital solutions are a must have.
  • 1-2 years manufacturing experience is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, digital photography, writing skills, and other training solutions.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in a 24/7 factory environment, donning all necessary Personal Protective Equipment. Essential functions include, but not limited to walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and exposure to varying weather conditions.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 - $145,500. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
