Located in Cortland, NY, with the flexibility of remote work, our client is in a strategic phase of expanding their operations and requires an experienced Program Manager to spearhead multiple project initiatives aimed at improving their organizational capabilities and market reach.

Position Summary:

The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in collaborating with the executive team to strategically plan and manage the execution of multiple company-wide projects. This position is key to instituting a programmatic approach to project management within the company, which currently lacks a formal program management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are designed with achievable plans, considering resource constraints, and are diligently monitored to keep them on track.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop the project business case, justification, cost estimates, and comprehensive execution plans.
  • Craft and oversee project work plans, adapting them as necessary to accommodate changing requirements and objectives.
  • Define and implement success metrics for project quality, schedule, and budget, and manage the project to meet these targets.
  • Lead the development of detailed project risk analyses and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
  • Design optimal project organizational structures, assemble appropriate resources, and clarify roles and responsibilities to ensure accountability and clarity among team members.
  • Manage the operational aspects of projects, ensuring scope control and high-quality deliverables.
  • Act as the principal communicator among all internal and external stakeholders, maintaining robust interaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports on project metrics, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate performance evaluations and mentorship sessions, fostering professional growth within the project team.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities by conducting lessons learned sessions to identify success factors and areas for future enhancement.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in project management, with a solid grasp of best practices and the ability to oversee projects from a holistic perspective.
  • Preferable experience in commercial launch execution and/or supply chain transformation.
  • Strong proficiency in preparing written reports, project correspondence, and managing contract elements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and adept at facilitating team meetings and driving efficient team collaboration.
  • Adept in handling complex technical and commercial challenges, providing timely issue resolution.
  • Advanced computer skills, including the ability to prepare detailed project presentations.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, ideally in a field related to project management or operations.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, including roles as a project manager, project engineer, or operational excellence leader.

Certifications:

  • PMI PMP Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
