Alto Health Care Staffing is Hiring a Registered Nurse - Pediatric (PEDS) Near Cooperstown, NY

Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse specializing in pediatrics at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns to adolescents. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Your role will involve collaborating with parents and caregivers to educate them on pediatric care and assist in the overall care process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor the physical and emotional condition of pediatric patients, including vital signs, growth, and development.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions tailored to pediatric patients' needs, ensuring safety and efficacy.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
  • Provide support and education to parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding pediatric care, including medication administration, nutrition, and hygiene.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Monitor pediatric patients during procedures and surgeries, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Recognize and respond to changes in pediatric patients' conditions, taking appropriate actions to ensure their well-being.
  • Foster a child-friendly and family-centered care environment, prioritizing the emotional needs of pediatric patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with Child Life Specialists and other support staff to enhance the hospital experience for pediatric patients.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with pediatric nursing best practices.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice with a specialization in pediatrics.
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Prior pediatric nursing experience preferred, but not required for entry-level positions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing situations and pediatric patients' unique needs.

Peds RN
13 week assignment
36 hrs
12 hr nights, 7p-7:30a
Active NY license
AHA BLS & AHA PALS required
Must be able to care for Adult AND Pediatric Med Surg patients along with Stable Mother/baby post partum patients
2 yrs of nursing experince with 1 year of Peds experience
Charge may be required
May float to sister facilities
