JOB DESCRIPTION

NY Enrichment Group is seeking several reliable, self-motivated, independent, fun-loving, youth Digital Photography Instructors to join our team.The successful candidates will be introducing students to beginner photography skills that are used by professional photographers. Instructors will help students explore how photographers use creative fundamentals to create compelling images. The sessions will encourage a deeper understanding of how to apply and layer these skills as young photographers. Instructors must be able to successfully adopt a creative, fun, and energetic learning approach while promoting and instilling values of respect, team, and passion. The instructor must be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve and demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire and educate.

Duties include:

  • Leading digital photography/Smartphone classes for youth aged 12-13 years old.
  • Creating photography curriculum & lesson plans for each session.
  • Facilitate classes that follow a social group work model
  • Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students
  • Prep for classes: arriving 15 minutes to set up and prepare to start class on time.
  • Clean up: must leave locations in condition found, or cleaner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and scholars.
  • Follow up after classes with NYEG Director of Operations.
  • Maintain a positive, healthy, safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

COVID vaccination REQUIRED.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should be highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, outspoken, honest, self-motivated, and work with integrity. This is an independent role, with little direct supervision.
  • Candidate should be comfortable working with children, and comfortable working independently leading a class of students. Candidate should be a clear communicator, have a positive attitude, and be able to effectively manage a classroom.
  • Relevant performance experience

Preferred but not necessary:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 2 years experience working with youth
  • Teaching experience and classroom management skills
  • A knowledge of, and willingness to teach photography fundamentals
