We are in immediate need for a Maintenance Tech to work with a production company located in the city of Commerce. Starting pay is $30-$36 DOE (DIRECT HIRE)

Schedule : Sunday - Thursday , 2PM to 10PM

Occasional Overnight Coverage 6PM to 6AM)

Job Description :

• Troubleshooting, corrective and preventive maintenance on process equipment
• Providing assistance with process improvement projects
• Providing assistance to project managers during new equipment design and installation activities
• Under minimal supervision, troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Establishes safe plan of action for troubleshooting and repairs, thanks to acquired knowledge and skills and using all available documents such as electrical and mechanical drawings
• Test and adjust equipment for proper functions before releasing to production
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in Work order instructions
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance activities
• Document usage of spare parts and trigger replenishment of stock
• In coordination with process engineers, proceed with small alteration of mechanical and electrical system to enhance safety or efficiency of equipment.
• In coordination with engineering department, assist with new equipment installation.
• Monitor equipment proper function via routine inspection and daily observation

COMPANY REQUIRED COMPETENCIES :

• Position holder will have a high school diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend the English language as determined through appropriate testing and / or the interview process.
• Mathematics and reasoning skills as determined through applicable aptitude and achievement tests.
• A position in areas, such as the maintenance department where specific skills such as electrical knowledge are required, will require documented evidence of competency in those skills

POSITION REQUIRED COMPETENCIES :

• Five or more years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Code
• Two years of course work in electronic / electrical technology resulting in a certification or degree
• Ability to read electrical drawings
• Ability to read simple mechanical drawings and be familiar with measurement systems
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
