We are seeking a Laboratory Accessioner to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

Responsibilities:

• Work EMR Systems
• Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
• Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
• Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
• Monitor inventory samples and supplies
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Work under the supervision of a medical technologist
• Daily receipt and accessioning and storage of human specimens.
• Ensure proper collection and labeling requirements of specimens.
• Direct specimens to appropriate lab for testing.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and laboratory areas.
• Proper disposal of contaminated materials.
• Administrative duties include filing, faxing and answering phones.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the clinical care team and demonstrate respect for all colleagues.
• Expand knowledge by participating in company and office educational and quality initiatives.
• Must possess emotional maturity and stability to approach highly stressful situations in a calm and rational matter.
• Use critical thinking to make sound clinical decisions.
• Adhere to ethical standards of conduct as well as applicable state and federal laws.
• Provide effective oral or written nonverbal communication with patients and their families, colleagues, and health care providers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a clinical technician or in other related fields
• Familiarity with common medical terminology
• Experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong organizational skills
