Position: Site Safety Health Officer

Overview:
Oversee all aspects of safety and health of employees, subcontractors, and the public at assigned construction projects.
Essential Job Functions
· Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and public.
· Perform audits of project sites to evaluate safety, regulatory compliance, cleanliness, and conformance to corporate safety plan.
· Conduct incident investigations inclusive of documentation.
· Conduct safety audits to identify and correct potential hazards.
· Maintain records of training and deficiencies.
· Perform comprehensive review of project plans to ensure conformance to applicable safety and regulatory standards and protocols.
· Ensure all written submittals (Accident Prevention Plans, etc..) are correct, complete and adhere to project requirements and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
· Meet the qualifications of USACE EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual (2014) Section 1, or the ability to obtain the qualifications.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Five (5) years of continuous experience in construction safety and health.
· OSHA 30 construction certification.
· CHST certification, preferred.
· Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
· Ability to pass background check and obtain DBIDS clearance.
· Ability to pass FRA drug test.
· Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
· Sound judgment and ethics.
· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
· Experience with Procore, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time)
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works alternately on-site at the construction work site and in an office environment. On-site may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. In offices, the noise level is quiet to moderately loud.
