Our client, an A-rated Insurance Carrier, is expanding their Commercial Lines business and seeking to add multiple Commercial Underwriting Assistants to their Columbus, OH office. The ideal candidate would be responsible for reviewing applications, rating/quoting, and coordinating with agents and underwriting staff.

• Perform front-to-end activities throughout the life-cycle of renewal and prospect accounts from submission to expiration with Underwriting oversight.
• Pre-underwrites, evaluates risk, and assesses completeness of the underwriting package before underwriter is required to review.
• Perform and apply knowledge of line of business specific product underwriting rules and/or guidelines for pre-analysis support of submission in preparation of further analysis for quoting stage.
• Make independent decisions within underwriting letter of authority and maintains proper file documentation; assist in developing annual business goals for assigned agents/producers.
• Develop initial pricing, basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages of the risk on behalf of the Underwriter.
• Calculate base rating and apply experience modifications as part of underwriting package.
• Communicate account status to ensure completion of all tasks including premium collection as part of bound account.

Requirements:

• 2 - 5 years of experience as an Underwriting Assistant.
• Previous experience quoting/rating Commercial Lines coverages.
• Strong communication, analytical skills, and business acumen.
• Bachelor's Degree is strongly desired but not required

Salary/Benefits:
