Job Description

Delta Industries is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work on its Ready Mix concrete plants in the Columbus, MS area. A general mechanical technician does not have a specialty area. The primary focus of the job is maintenance, service and repair of facilities and equipment. They are sometimes referred to as a mechanic and will work on various tasks.

* Must have ability to climb ladders, stairs, work in confined spaces, and crawl into tight spots

* Ability to work independently and communicate issues and needs effectively to team mates

* Minimum requirement of 2 years of Industrial or Commercial mechanical experience a must (residential does NOT qualify)

* Experience must include:

- Inspections, oil changes, meter readings

- Dealing with various work requests

- Communicating existing and potential issues with their supervisor and plant managers

- Cleaning and maintaining tools and inventory

- Adhering to strict safety measures and policies

- All forms of miscellaneous facilities work

* Experience should include:

- knowledge of pumps, compressors, conveyors, valves, piping / tubing

- Solving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various facility equipment

- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns

- Interpreting technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance work

- (dis)assembling/installing new machines, condition monitoring sensors, equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
