Good Day Farm is Hiring a Packaging Supervisor Near Columbia, MO

Summary

The Packaging Supervisor ensures efficient and effective operations within the packaging department including working with the Packaging Manager on the implementation of new packaging procedures for new products and packaging as business needs evolve. Responsibilities include day-to-day supervision of packaging operations and the implementation of new and updated packaging SOPs. The Packaging Supervisor will train and manage packaging personnel to meet a consistent, high standard of work.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervises processes, personnel and equipment required to package cannabis flower and ancillary products.
  • Maintains and improves operating procedures related to packaging cannabis flower and ancillary products.
  • Compiles procedures and data tracking according to the needs of the business.
  • Adheres to state regulated compliance regulations, compliance software, and management of staff and schedules.
  • Oversees the compliance verification of finished goods and packaging prior to product transfer to the Vault.
  • Supervises packaging operations to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Ability to coach staff, address issues and offer constructive feedback when required.
  • Represents the department manager in leadership/work groups when the manager cannot attend.
  • Works with department leads and manager to maintain consistent material inventories.
  • Ensures proper machine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Orders packaging supplies when the Manager is unavailable.
  • Keeps detailed SOPs for all packaging tasks and processes up to date.
  • Assists with training new and existing packaging personnel on new SOPs and duties.
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, reviews, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience managing hourly employees.
  • Prior experience in training team members
  • Experience with kitchen-related or manufacturing-related management is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and comfortable learning new software.
  • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
  • Must be able to communicate with subordinates, peers, and leadership effectively and professionally.
  • Must perform under high pressure situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, always evolving, and challenging environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail in a highly regulated industry
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to organize and write clear procedures.
  • Effective time-management skills and the ability to multi-task and delegate
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude.
  • Available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time. The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions. The ability to work in low light situations.
