Special Assets Officer -College Station, TX:

The Special Assets Officer plays a pivotal role in formulating targeted strategies to restore credit viability and devise exit plans for loans. Additionally, this candidate oversees a diverse portfolio of loan and OREO assets until their liquidation.

Requirements:

  • Five years or more of experience in Special Assets collection or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, SBA, and lending processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in credit underwriting and a solid understanding of collateral and loan documentation.
  • Familiarity with financial institution operating policies, procedures, and state and federal banking regulations.

Description:

  • Evaluate problematic loan scenarios and develop, negotiate, and execute resolution strategies with a focus on swift resolution and minimizing bank losses.
  • Ensure accurate management reporting by maintaining proper risk rating, accrual status, TDR status, and other pertinent factors reflecting the borrower's financial capability and collateral adequacy.
  • Assess collateral adequacy and potential impairments by ensuring timely ordering and receipt of real estate appraisals reflective of all property conditions.
  • Manage specific problem loan accounts directly while assisting loan officers with problematic accounts in their portfolios.
  • Provide oversight and management of accounts in bankruptcy, foreclosure, and collection, including meeting reporting requirements for past due accounts, watchlist accounts, charge-offs, and recoveries.
  • Implement effective collection efforts on previously charged-off accounts and off-balance sheet notes.
