Carolina Beverage is Hiring a Process Control Technician Near Cold Spring, MN

POSITION TITLE: Process Control Technician M-F Status: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: This position assists Process Control Lead and Utilities Manager in the responsibility to troubleshoot, fix and maintain various equipment throughout the facility, to include, but not limited to: the pasteurizers, warmer, RO water systems and the waste water pretreatment facility. This is to be performed in the most cost efficient and cost effective manner, while maintaining all quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists with supervision of the operation and maintenance of all aspects relating to water systems, wastewater systems, pasteurizers and warmer, covering shifts when needed

2. Assists PC Lead with PM planning and management, parts ordering, and special projects

3. Assists in document control, maintaining equipment databases, and Environmental reporting

4. Assists with ordering and maintaining bulk chemicals for the company.

5. Assists Brewing and Batching with troubleshooting and repair of valves, meters, chillers, and other operational equipment necessary to perform their job.

6. Assists Quality Control with troubleshooting and repair of lab equipment.

7. Work with consultants regarding equipment, chemicals and other items as they relate to this position.

8. Other duties as assigned.

2. Report any waste or poor conservation practices to your immediate Supervisor.

3. Continuously looking for improved practices and processes in your position, and relaying these ideas to your immediate supervisor

2. Prompt return from any and all break periods.

3. Meet all productivity standards established for position.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is required to stand on hard surfaces for entire shift. Also regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 50lbs. Position must be able to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, customers and visitors.

MACHINES/EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Pasteurizers, warmer, RO water systems, wastewater pretreatment system, forklift, and various testing and calibration equipment.

TYPICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT: This position works entirely in a production environment which includes high-speed equipment and damp floors. Noise, dust, and variable temperature and use of production chemicals are also typical in this work environment. May be required to work and direct in confined spaces, and work with high pressure steam.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. plus post secondary maintenance training or comparable experience.

Experience: 1 – 3 years of experience using a maintenance planning system

  • 1 – 3 years of maintenance experience in a production environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This position requires above average verbal and written communication skills as well as a high degree of troubleshooting capability. Thorough knowledge of production operations, including all safety requirements. Must have a good mechanical background, be goal oriented and able to work independently. Must also have good math and science skills, exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented. This position will spend more time in an office or on a computer than a 2-2-3 PC Tech. Shift flexibility is required, this position will cover vacations in the event of extended leaves of other Process Techs.

About Carolina Beverage

The Carolina Beverage Corporation was started in Salisbury, NC by a general store owner named LD Peeler. Peeler first began distributing a soft drink called Mint Cola. In 1917 during a World War I sugar shortage, LD Peeler began experimenting with other flavors and developed the soft drink Cheerwine. Today Cheerwine is the primary beverage sold by the company. The company is still based in Salisbury and is privately owned and managed by the same founding family, five generations of whom have worked there. 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of Cheerwine.
