My Family Eyecare is an optometry practice located in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional eyecare to our patients with a very personal touch. It is our desire to build lasting relationships with our patients. We specialize in comprehensive eye health exams, pediatric vision care, specialty contact lens fitting, dry eye assessment and treatment and managing eye related diseases.
We are looking for a dedicated, energetic and positive person who will help us to achieve our objectives. It is the primary responsibility of this individual to ensure that each of our patients are receiving the best quality of care at all times. This individual will work directly with our Optometrist and other members of our quality team. Under the guidance of the Optometrist or the Office Manager, this individual will assist with duties including but not limited to:
*Performing preliminary tests on patients--measuring visual acuity, depth perception and color vision
*Taking patient history and documenting medical information
*Preparing patients for examinations by the Optometrist--administering eye drops and other diagnostic procedures
*Conducting diagnostic tests such as tonometry, VF testing, autorefractor, OCT imaging, dry eye imaging and manual lensometry
*Assisting with contact lens fitting and instructing new wearers with insertion and removal
*Maintaining the office and exam rooms as necessary
*Educating patients with proper eye care practices and procedures
*Answering the telephone and texts as necessary and making appointments when front desk team is occupied
*Posting accurate charges for exam fees, copays and products sold
*Obtaining insurance authorizations if necessary
*Assisting other members of the team if necessary
*Assisting in the coordination of patient scheduling and monitoring patient flow throughout the office to ensure an exceptional experience for the patient
*Other duties as required
Experience and Skills:
This individual must excel in customer service skills--projecting professionalism and personal warmth at the same time. Other skills or abilities are as follows:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
*Strong problem solving skills
*Ability to use basic math and alegebra

*Passion for self improvement and continuing education
*Flexibility in handing schedule changes as they arise
*Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred but not required
*Previous experience with electronic medical records is also preferred
*Ability for paying attention to detail
