Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Project Execution:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Project Monitoring and Control:
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project team members on a proactive basis.
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure stakeholder needs are met as the project evolves.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field or combination or experience and education.
- PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Proven working experience in project management.
- Experience in leading and managing project teams.
- Experience with project management software tools.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Experience in the shipyard industry relevant to the job.
- Proficiency in additional project management software and tools.
- Experience with stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
- Project Management certifications a plus but not required.
