Job Description
Combine knowledge of mechanical technology, electrical wiring, instrumentation and Industrial Controls and Instrumentation to assemble, operate, test, and maintain unmanned, automated, robotic, or electromechanical equipment.
Standard Duties
Review technical documentation (blueprints, schematics, and diagrams) to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a machine or a piece of equipment.
Utilize documentation, precision measuring equipment and meters, as appropriate, to inspect and validate individual components.
Use soldering equipment, crimping tools, and other and hand tools to assemble industrial control panels and install instrumentation and mechanical components to a system.
Conduct tests on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems and subsystems using a variety of testing equipment, including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, multimeters, manometers, flow sensors, and other instrumentation.
Work with Engineering to document and validate Bills of Materials, assembly procedures, testing procedures and modifications to equipment during the manufacturing process.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience as an Electromechanical Technician, Industrial Controls Technician, or similar background.
Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints, industrial control assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
Attention to detail.
Basic mathematical skills
Microsoft Word & Excel competency.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift 51 pounds from floor to table height
Must be able to physically position oneself on large parts and confined spaces.
Education
High School Degree or GED
Certifications and/or working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, Motor Controls a plus.
Certifications and/or working knowledge associated with UL508A, NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 a plus.
AutoCAD a plus.
