Position

The Construction Estimator/Project Manager will manage civil and natural gas project(s) and can include high-pressure gas line, regulator station, anomaly digs, intermediate high pressure, gas infrastructure maintenance, civil, and remediation. This position will oversee the planning, directing, coordinating, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of facilities and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractors, safety, quality, and implementation. Develop accurate and timely construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals for our client-base of general contractors, owners, developers, and end-users. This is a full-time traveling position.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

  • Pre-qualification with specified clients
  • Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative.
  • Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, collaborations, and conferences with clients and design professionals.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
  • Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and applicable Engineering programs. HCSS Heavy Bid experience preferred.
  • Good Written and oral communication.
  • Must collaborate well with others and thrive in a team environment.
  • Construction background required.
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, drawings, plans & profiles.
  • Willing to travel and work on-site as needed.
  • Degree in associated field preferred.
  • Prior natural gas and/or civil construction experience preferred.
  • Project management experience within the construction industry preferred.
