Mental Health Technician
Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
- Provide direct care and support to patients, including assistance with daily activities and personal hygiene.
- Observe and document patient behavior, progress, and any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement therapeutic interventions.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and assist with individual counseling sessions.
- Monitor patients for safety and intervene in crisis situations as needed.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
Experience:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or PTSD preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Understanding of gender issues in counseling and providing inclusive care.
- Experience working in a hospital or mental health facility setting.
- Background in special education or research is a plus.
