Clinton, MS Public Schools is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Near Clinton, MS

  • Perform a variety of locksmith and door repairs; install, and replace locks, doors, and hardware.
  • Perform general building repairs such as roofing, drainage, drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical and other related maintenance activities.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures, open clogged lines, and drains.
  • Operate a variety of machinery, equipment, and various hand tools.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
  • Communicate effectively in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner with students, employees, faculty, and the public.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance in accordance with school policies and practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Be a self-starter and have strong time management skills.

5. Ability to follow oral or written instructions.

6. Have basic computer skills.

7. Ability to work with limited supervision.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in general maintenance operations or related area.
  • Current Mississippi drivers license with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
  • Relevant professional certifications.
  • High school diploma
  • Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances.
  • Problem solving aptitude.
  • Good physical condition

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Applicable knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
