Astrix is Hiring a Quality Assurance Chemist Near Cleveland, OH
Schedule: M-F 2nd shift (3p-11p)
Pay: $26.50/hr-$28.50/hr
Type: Direct Hire
The QA Chemist collaborates closely with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing,Maintenance, Shipping, and Receiving. The incumbent must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter. Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to focus on tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience working with analytical equipment, including but not limited to, XRF, Flash point, Viscometers, Auto Titrators and FTIR.
- Background in ISO 9001-2015.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference towards chemical manufacturing/processing.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests, such as sample preparation, chemical analysis, and quality control checks, following established protocols.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Record, analyze, and interpret data, while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to data integrity principles.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with product investigations, CAPAs/CARs, and timely reporting and closure & communication of product nonconformances including issuance of corrective actions.
- Preparation and shipment of samples to customers to DOT and IATA requirements.
