Job Summary

The Mammography Technician; Provides patient services using Mammography and Radiographic imaging modalities. Performs Mammography/Radiographic procedures, effectively train others. Applies principles of radiation protection. Evaluates images for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to Mammography /Radiographic procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures.

Requirements:

Education: 

• Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Accredited Radiography Program or equivalent

Experience: 

• 2 years of work experience in X-Ray/Mammography; preferably in a hospital setting

 Licenses/Certifications:

• Washington State License Required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification or equivalent
• Current American Heart Association's BLS/CPR certification card on hire or within orientation period

Skills and Abilities: 

• Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate
• Demonstrated ability to assess and observe patients
• Read and interpret radiology reports and requisitions
