Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) is hiring an attorneys for the Clarksburg area.

Do you want to make an impact in the lives of people? Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV), the state’s primary provider of civil legal aid, is seeking skilled, motivated attorneys to help change the lives of vulnerable clients.

Employees begin by earning 13 sick leave hours and 11.25 annual leave hours per month, as well as 3 floating holidays per year. These amounts increase with years of service. LAWV also has a generous Holiday schedule. Health insurance for employees and their families is provided at a nominal rate. If you are provided insurance elsewhere, additional compensation is available for your 403(b)-retirement account. LAWV provides dental coverage for employees and their families free of charge. As an Attorney on our team, you will be a member of the Legal Help for Renter’s Project, LAWV’s partnership with the WV Housing Development Fund. The goal of this initiative is to provide legal assistance to eligible tenants with their holistic legal needs. This position will provide legal assistance involving barriers to tenants including, eviction defense, habitability, safety at home, and economic stability. This unit will work together to create novel approaches to address tenant issues across West Virginia.
