Behavioral Health Technician
Position Description:
We are looking for Behavioral Health Technician to join our Team!
Nulton Diagnostic & Treatment Center is accepting applications for a full-timeBehavioral Health Technician in Intensive Behavioral Health Services who shall be responsible for implementing the Individualized Treatment Plan of each individual assigned to his/her case load.
Principal Responsibilities
A. Implement Individualized Treatment Plans in the home, school, and community
B. Documentation of client's response to treatment
- document client's response to his/her treatment
- completed notes in an accurate and timely manner
- communicate with parents regarding the client'ss progress in treatment
C. Provide crisis intervention
- de-escalate client, if client begins to get angry
- provide assistance/direction if client needs to call local crisis center
- complete appropriate incident report form/s and turn into supervisor within 24 hours
D. Complete all assigned trainings by the due date to stay current with all practices and guidelines
- if the individual has not previously provided BHT services, the individual shall complete at least 30 hours of department-approved training prior to providing services independently including mandated reporting, crisis intervention, behavior management, child and adolescent development, ethics, confidentiality, and medication
- 24 hours of department-approved training within the first 6 months of providing BHT services including but not limited to documentation skills, the systems of care principles, the overview of functional behavioral assessment, skills for working with children and families
- at least 20 hours of Department-approved training annually
E. Attend weekly individual and group supervisions as directed
- One hour of supervision each week if the individual who provides BHT services works at least 37.5 hours per week
- One hour of supervision two times a month if the individual who provides BHT services works less than 37.5 hours a week
- An individual who provides BHT services must receive one hour of individual face-to-face supervision each month
- One hour of direct observation of the provision of services to a child, youth or young adult during the implementation of the ITP every 2 months
F. Maintain regular communication with clients, families, school personnel and treatment teams through home visits, school visits, and community interactions in the implementation of IBH services
G. Performs other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, Skills, Training:
Staff Qualifications (as per Chapter 5240.71)
By January 1, 2021, individuals who provide individual services through BHT services shall meet one of the following:
1. Have a certification as a BCaBA.
2.Have a certification as an RBT.
3.Have a certification as a BCAT.
4.Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
5.Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.
6.Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.
Must be able to obtain Act 33, Act 34, Act 114 clearances.
